The Philadelphia Flyers have made some roster changes today, calling up goaltender Aleksei Kolosov from their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The team also announced that center Christian Dvorak and goaltender Dan Vladar will not be dressing for this afternoon's game against the New York Rangers.

Kolosov, who has been playing for the Phantoms, will join the Flyers for today's game, although it is uncertain if he will start. Head coach Rick Tocchet may opt to go with Sam Ersson, as the Flyers have no game tomorrow. However, depending on the length of Vladar's absence, Kolosov may see action in one of the back-to-back games the Flyers have next week, first against the Vancouver Canucks and then against the Chicago Blackhawks.

In his time with the Phantoms, Kolosov has posted a record of 6-8-1 with a 2.77 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage. He has also played two games with the Flyers this season, with a .929 save percentage.

The bigger news, however, is the status of Vladar. He played in Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, but it seems he is not fully fit to play today. The team has not disclosed the exact nature of his upper-body injury, but it is hoped that it is not related to a hit he took from a Carolina player last Sunday. Vladar remained in the game and did not show any signs of injury, but it is possible that it has caught up with him now.

In other news, the Flyers' decision to call up winger Denver Barkey on Friday night may have been a precautionary move, given Dvorak's injury. Dvorak played over 18 minutes in Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres, where the Flyers lost 5-3. He has been a key player on the team's top offensive line, alongside Trevor Zegras and Travis Konecny, with 23 points this season. With Dvorak out, the Flyers will have to make some adjustments to their lines for today's game. This could potentially mean Barkey's NHL debut.

Today's game against the Rangers is the first meeting between these two teams this season. The Rangers have struggled at home, with a record of 4-10-3 and being shut out six times at Madison Square Garden so far this season.

The Flyers will have to overcome these challenges and put together a strong performance without two key players in their lineup. It will also be an opportunity for Kolosov and Barkey to make an impact and prove themselves at the NHL level. Let's hope for a Flyers win and a speedy recovery for Dvorak and Vladar. Go Flyers!
