It's Day 15 of Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp and the team is back at the JeffPlex after a week-long road trip to New England. The team had joint practices and a game while on the road, but today's practice is back to the usual routine. It was a short and uneventful practice with no pads, but there were still some noteworthy moments. Let's dive into the highlights:

  • For the first time in over a week, wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Makai Lemon were full practice participants. Lemon wasted no time getting back onto the field with the first-team offense and received a couple of targets. One play, in particular, saw Lemon running a slant route against Cooper DeJean, but the ball was slightly out of reach and bounced off his outstretched arms. It's tough to say whether it was a drop or a miscommunication between Lemon and quarterback Jalen Hurts, who may have expected Lemon to be further into his route. But overall, it was a solid return for the rookie who had been absent from team drills for three weeks. Smith also had a couple of catches on crossing routes, showing no signs of concern for his performance in the upcoming games.

  • Speaking of Hurts, it's clear that the Eagles' offense will be utilizing a lot of play action boots and getting Hurts on the move. He made a great throw while on the run to Tay Wicks, who may have caught the ball while falling out of bounds, but the officials ruled it incomplete. It's possible that Wicks didn't "survive the ground" and the ball came loose, but it was still an impressive throw by Hurts.

  • The defensive line was a force to be reckoned with during this practice, as they racked up numerous sacks. Players like Moro Ojomo, Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith, and Jordan Davis all had multiple sacks, showcasing the depth and talent of this defensive line. Opposing quarterbacks should be wary of this unit come game day.

  • Unfortunately, two standout players from the Eagles' recent preseason game against the Patriots, Markel Bell and Willie Lampkin, were absent from practice due to injuries. Bell was listed with thumb and leg injuries, while Lampkin had a stinger. This gave some other players a chance to shine, including the second-team offensive line consisting of Myles Hinton, Micah Morris, Zeke Correll, Drew Kendall, Jake Majors, and Fred Johnson. And speaking of Correll, he finally made an appearance in practice, even if it was just in the notes.

  • In a surprising move, the Eagles showed a formation with a fullback, and it was none other than tight end Dallas Goedert. He didn't seem too thrilled about being a lead blocker, but he did his best to clear the way for his teammate. It will be interesting to see how this formation is utilized in future games.

  • Wide receiver Hollywood Brown had a couple of impressive plays during practice, including a deep ball catch from Hurts where he made an over-the-head grab. The Eagles brought Brown onto the team for his speed and potential to stretch the defense, and he certainly lived up to that expectation today.

  • One last noteworthy moment was seeing quarterback Tanner McKee taking the first-team reps with the second unit. McKee had outplayed veteran quarterback Andy Dalton in the second preseason game, and it seems like he may be getting more opportunities to showcase his skills. This has happened before during training camp, but it's still worth mentioning.

  • Lastly, the Eagles will be having an open practice on Tuesday night, followed by another practice on Wednesday and the third preseason game on Friday. The team will then have to trim their roster down to 53 players by Sunday evening. It's an exciting time for the Eagles as they gear up for the regular season and make some tough decisions about their roster.

Overall, Day 15 of training camp may have been short and uneventful, but there were still some noteworthy moments and players who stood out. With the regular season quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see how the team continues to develop and make adjustments. Make sure to stay tuned for more updates and highlights from Eagles training camp.
