Breaking Down the Eagles' Potential Undrafted Free Agent Roster for 2026: Expert Analysis
The Philadelphia Eagles made a total of 16 new additions to their roster during the 2026 NFL Draft. In addition to their eight draft picks, they reportedly signed eight undrafted free agents. While these reports are usually correct, there have been instances where a player initially reported to have signed with one team, ended up with another.
Let's take a closer look at each of the Eagles' reported signings and their rankings and grades according to Dane Brugler of The Athletic and Lance Zierlein of NFL.com. We will continue to update this list as more signings are confirmed.
Deontae Lawson, LB, Alabama (6'3, 224)
Lawson has been a starter for Alabama for the past three years and was even trusted with the green dot helmet for their defense. However, he suffered a torn ACL in late 2024 which affected his performance in the 2025 season. Now, being another year removed from his injury, Lawson has a chance to get his career back on track. He is the most high-profile UDFA signing for the Eagles and has the potential to make an impact on the team.
Dae'Quan Wright, TE, Ole Miss (6'4, 246)
Wright had an impressive season for Ole Miss, making big plays and recording 39 receptions for 635 yards and 5 touchdowns. He has versatility as he was used all over the formation by coach Lane Kiffin. However, he needs to work on his blocking skills. Wright has the potential to be a valuable addition to the Eagles' tight end group.
Jaeden Roberts, OG, Alabama (6'5, 333)
Roberts, also known as "Hulk," was Alabama's starting right guard in 2023 and 2024 but saw a decrease in playing time in 2025. He is a massive lineman with good size and strength, but his technique needs improvement. However, Roberts' coaches praise his work ethic and coachability, making him a prospect worth considering for the Eagles, who have thin depth at the interior offensive line.
Kapena Gushiken, CB, Ole Miss (5'10, 189)
Although listed as a safety in scouting reports, Gushiken is likely to play as a slot corner for the Eagles. He may lack size, but he compensates with his speed, recording a 4.33 40 at Ole Miss' pro day. Gushiken has good route awareness and is a tough tackler, but he needs to work on his angles and breakdown skills. His passion for the game and strong work ethic make him an intriguing prospect for the Eagles.
Joshua Weru, EDGE, Kenya (6'4, 244)
In the seventh round of the draft, the Eagles selected Uar Bernard, an extremely athletic prospect from Nigeria who has never played football. Weru is another international player who impressed scouts at the HBCU showcase. He has good football movement skills and could be a valuable addition to the Eagles' defensive line.
Rocco Underwood, LS, Florida (6'3, 240)
Underwood was the long snapper for Florida's kicker Trey Smack, who was drafted by the Eagles in the 2026 draft. He appeared in 50 games for the Gators and has a good track record as a long snapper. With the Eagles currently having no long snapper on their roster, Underwood has a good chance of making the team.
Maximus Pulley, S, Wofford (5'11, 197)
Pulley had an impressive season for Wofford with 85 tackles and 5 interceptions, including two pick-sixes. He has a highlight reel of his best plays on YouTube, showcasing his ball-hawking abilities and his love for making tackles in the run game. While he may struggle against higher-level competition, Pulley's instincts and playmaking abilities make him a fun player to watch and a potential steal for the Eagles.
Tucker Large, S, Washington State (5'10, 181)
Large is a small safety who played at South Dakota State before transferring to Washington State. He had a successful career at SDSU, recording 7 interceptions and even scoring a punt return touchdown. His stats dipped in 2025, but he still has potential as a coverage safety. With his experience in special teams, Large could be a valuable addition to the Eagles' roster.
The Eagles have a history of success with undrafted free agents, with at least one making the initial 53-man roster out of training camp every year since 2013. This year's group of undrafted rookies has the potential to continue this trend and make their mark on the team. Stay tuned for updates on their progress as they prepare for the upcoming season.
